The Adventures Of Pirotess: Let's Go Fishing

Crafting and gathering jobs are lots of fun and useful, but there is one gathering job that is laid back and relaxing. That gathering job class is Fisherman. Fishing is useful for gathering ingredients for Culinarian's fish recipes. It's also a nice break from the hectic adventuring life. To unlock the Fisherman job class you need to travel to Limsa Lominsa and go to the fishing guild, Fisherman's Bottom. Talk to the guildmaster NPC Sisipu to get your first fishing rod and a tutorial about fishing. You also talk to Sisipu when you hit certain levels like level 10 for a job specific quest and get rewarded with the fishing gear of your choice.

Talk to Sisipu to start your fishing journey.

When you are at a body of water like in Limsa Lominsa where there are plenty of piers to fish from, you can fish. There are abilities you can use while fishing which are in your action hot bar menu. These abilities help your fishing go smoothly.

Pirotess ready to use her fishing abilities in Limsa Lominsa.

Of course you can't fish without bait. One of the abilities in your action bar is choosing bait for fishing. A window will pop up allowing you to choose your bait. Different types of bait attract different types of fish and the bait will also show you what level it is. For example, a crayfish ball is a level five bait so this is a beginner bait for when you are starting out. As you progress in level, you will be able to get higher level bait. This is where Culinarian comes in handy because you can craft a variety of fishing bait for the Fisherman job class.

Equip bait for fishing success.

There are tons of fishing spots all over the world of Eorzea and it's up to you to discover them. One thing that can help you with that is your fishing log. The fishing log shows you the areas where you can fish and it's up to you to discover the fishing spots. Once a fishing spot is found, it is in your fishing log map permanently so you can just go right to that area.

Use your fishing log to discover fishing spots.

With your fishing rod, bait, and fishing log you can wander around and fish to your heart's content. Some may find fishing boring and that's okay. It's a very relaxed gathering job class. I personally like it because it's nice to just enjoy the music in the game and take in the scenery while gathering different kinds of fish. It's a nice break from the leveling and end game grind.

Pirotess enjoying some fishing.

When you do successfully catch a fish, you will get a notification showing the type of fish you caught and it will add it to your fish guide, giving you credit for catching that fish. There are so many types of fish you can catch, so explore all those areas to find those great fishing spots.

Catching a fish that gets added to the fish guide.

Fisherman is a gathering job class that requires a lot of patience, but it is relaxing and a lot of fun. With all the different types of fish you can catch and the vast areas to explore, it gives you a nice break from adventuring. Get out there and see the world of Eorzea as well as seeing what kinds of fish you can catch. I myself am off to go do some more fishing. See you at the next adventure everyone!

See you at the next adventure!

Warframe Twitch Streamers Who Are All About Community

I have often said how much I enjoy the Warframe community because so many of the people I play the game with are kind, helpful, and all enjoying the game together. Often when I am not playing Warframe or sometimes when I am, I like watching some of the Warframe Twitch streamers. When I'm playing the game I usually watch the Twitch stream on my tablet. I have some personal favorite streamers. These are Warframe streamers who are all about community. They interact with people in chat, invite people to hop in and play the game with them, and answer questions or offer advice about the game for people who are playing or want to play. They are friendly, kind, and welcoming. A couple of them I mod for and they are some of the nicest people it is my pleasure to know. A lot of the channels have a Discord channel also so you can chat with them and fellow players. Bear in mind these are mature channels. Here are some of the Warframe streamers I like watching.

Ready to play some Warframe.

Let's start with Glam Shatterskull. With a fantastic heavy/fantasy metal playlist, an adorable cat named Axe, and his super friendly everyone is welcome vibe, Glam is always entertaining to watch. Glam is quite knowledgeable about the mechanics of Warframe. He knows a lot about unlocking rivens, different warframe abilities, weapon mods, and more. If you have questions, you can ask them in chat and Glam and others in chat are more than happy to help you out and answer them. Glam will also invite people to join him in the game for missions and sorties. Chat is always lively thanks to his lady MostRecklessly, his mods, and the great community. Discussions range from good Warframe builds to great music. Glam is incredibly kind and he is always genuinely having fun every time he's on. He recently became a Warframe and Twitch partner and it is well deserved because Glam is one of the good ones who really cares about the community and making everyone feel welcome. Glam streams Monday-Friday around 5:30 pm EST and Sunday he goes for a really long stream that starts around 9:30 AM EST. Stop in and say hello and have some fun with Glam and everyone. MostRecklessly also makes amazing ceramic mugs with Glam's ravenlord logo which you can buy from her online shop and there is also a merch store where you can buy tee shirts and hoodies with Glam's ravenlord logo. Everything is well made and looks fantastic, something to think about if you want to buy some great gifts for people.

Gooperatives or Goop as everyone calls him, is also a Warframe partner. Goop is friendly and kind to everyone. He offers helpful tips and advice about the game. He also has Youtube tutorials about various warframes and their abilities like Gara. Goop is also a mental health advocate. In his streams conversations happen organically about how important it is to be open and honest about mental health and getting the help you need. Goop often discusses his own journey with mental health and is quite candid and open about his Bipolar 2 disorder, anxiety, and suicide attempt when he was 16. These are all things he's open about and offers to answer any questions anyone may have in order to evoke a conversation about mental health and to let others know they are not alone. On his Discord channel there is a venting channel and a triumphs channel where you can chat with everyone about things you're going through or the things that made your day. There is also an information channel with resources for help with mental health. Goop and the community he has built are some of the kindest and most supportive people you will ever chat with. It's very much about open and honest communication and being supportive of each other in our struggles and victories in our mental health journey. Goop also does a podcast called Less Than Three that discusses mental health and content creation for Twitch streamers and how to navigate those issues when they come up. You can find the podcast on I-Tunes and Googe Play. In between there are great Warframe streams and some variety also.Goop will sometimes invite people to play Warframe with him for various missions and everyone has a lot of fun. Goop usually does a variety night on Wednesdays. This means he plays a game or two other than Warframe. Recently, he played Hollow Knight, Persona 5, Dead Cells, and Dead By Daylight. Variety streams are a little more relaxed, but always fun. Goop usually streams Tuesday-Thursday around 9 pm EST and Saturday and Sunday around 9 pm EST. Mondays and Fridays he has time off and hosts other streamers. Come check out his stream sometime to play some Warframe with everyone and have great conversations about mental health with a supportive and friendly community.

DadRage is not a Warframe partner yet, but he is on the right track to getting there. DadRage is a really good guy with a great sense of humor who plays Warframe and jokes that he has no idea what he's doing. There are always a lot of Dad jokes with puns being told and often there are memes. DadRage always tells newcomers to his chat that there is a love of Dad jokes and memes in his channel. This is true. He will often ask people to tell him their best dad jokes and people are happy to oblige. DadRage's community is a lot of fun and everyone is really friendly. You can ask questions about the game in there and he will answer your questions. If he is not sure, he will ask people in chat and the community is really nice, helping fellow Warframe players out. DadRage invites people to join him in the game for missions and makes humorous comments about how grateful he is to people carrying him. Everyone always has a good time with DadRage's streams and he'll get Warframe partner in no time. DadRage has also been playing Monster Hunter World on PC one or two days a week and invites people to come play with him in the game for some epic monster hunts. So if you love Dad jokes, memes, and fun come hang out with DadRage and everyone in chat. DadRage usually streams six days a week, Monday-Saturday around 10 PM EST and the stream runs until 6 AM EST. Sundays he takes time off for his family, MomRage and BabyRage.

Check out DadRage's stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/dadrage

Adimouse is a fairly new Warframe streamer, but she's a really good one. She's a bit of a late night/early morning streamer, streaming Monday-Saturday at 2 AM EST and the stream runs for about five hours. Adimouse focuses on having fun in Warframe and invites people to join her in the game. Sometimes she does variety and the current games so far have been Borderlands 2 with her good friend LDR and the first Starcraft game. The channel is just starting, but chat is always fun and Adimouse is welcoming and friendly to everyone. She makes some pretty funny jokes about waffles vs. pancakes and always has a good time with everyone playing Warframe and other games. Her community is helpful to new and veteran Warframe players as well as being a fun place to hang out. Stop in sometime, play some Warframe, and chat with a lot of great people.

Check out Adimouse's stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/adimouse

Makarimorph is another fantastic streamer who is all about community. He is a Warframe partner and a Twitch partner as well. He is very animated, cheerful, and genuinely cares about everyone in the community. He offers great tutorials on Warframe ranging from how to hunt Eidolons to how mechanics on specific warframes work. He's also a great artist and often has a few minutes of him drawing some fantastic art on his channel for art giveaways. Makarimorph's community is friendly, welcoming, and fun and that says so much about Makarimorph himself. He's a truly kind person and it is always enjoyable watching his streams. Makari streams seven days a week usually starting around 9 in the morning and streams go for about six to twelve hours. Stop in and say hi, hang out, and have fun with this awesome streamer.

If you would like to add me you can. On PC, the name is PirotessDragontamer and on PS4 it is Devastateor2761. See you at the next adventure, everyone!

The Adventures Of Pirotess: PVP In Final Fantasy XIV

Sometimes I get a little burned out on the grind of Final Fantasy XIV. PVP offers a nice break from the grind while giving experience for melee or mage classes I'm leveling. PVP also gives tomes needed for better gear for your job classes. It also gives a currency called wolf marks that you can use to buy PVP gear and items like song scrolls and wind up minions.

To participate in PVP you need to complete the level 30 quest A Pup No Longer with your Grand Company. This will require you to visit The Wolves Den where you have to talk to the NPC Berkoeya Loetahlysn. Once you do that, you can join in PVP. The Wolves Den is also where you can spend your wolf marks on PVP gear and various items. You can also practice sparring for PVP matches here.

Pirotess at the Wolves Den.

To participate in PVP, you will look in your adventure log and see a list of the types of PVP matches you can do. The Feast matches require that you be in a party which is perfect for doing PVP with your friends. Rival Wings is a large scale PVP event involving up to 48 people divided into two teams. Frontline PVP corresponds with your Grand Company.

List of PVP events are in your PVP log.

I personally enjoy doing the Frontline PVP. They did make a change to where instead of being able to choose which Frontline area you want to do, you go to the one that is available that day and it changes each day to a different area. The following three areas for Frontline are, The Borderland Ruins, Seal Rock, and The Fields Of Glory.

The Borderland Ruins are a fairly easy map to navigate. Your team needs to rack up points by capturing the opposing teams base as well as their outposts. Knocking out members of the opposing team will rack up points as well. You will notice in your hot bar that you have job specific PVP abilities. These are useful during PVP matches and the flee button especially helps when you're in a pinch during a match because you can run away and regroup with your team.

PVP in the Borderland Ruins.

Seal Rock is quite a different map and it can be a little challenging to navigate, but if you have your map up and call out coordinates to your team, it makes things easier. It is also a good idea to move as a group with your team so you don't get ambushed. The goal here is to find Allagan tomeliths and activate them so that you can extract their data. The more you find, the more points your team racks up bringing you closer to victory.

PVP in Seal Rock.

The Fields Of Glory is my favorite PVP because the map is incredibly easy to navigate and it's quite straightforward in what you're supposed to do. In this one, there are icebound tomeliths that will activate at a random point of time. Once activated it is up to your team to attack and destroy these tomeliths in order to collect the data from them. There are small and large tomeliths. Large tomeliths will reward you with more data, but be prepared because battles around these are intense.

PVP in The Fields Of Glory.

As mentioned before, having the map up and calling out coordinates is very helpful to your team during PVP. It is also important to be aware of your surroundings. Don't get caught alone by the opposing team because you will get a KO that sends you back to the starting base and it will give them points. You want the other team to have as few points as possible and your team to succeed because the team with the highest points wins the match. Use your job specific abilities during matches and be aware of the cool down timers so that you can do your best to be helpful to your team.

Do your best and use the PVP skills at your disposal.

Win or lose at the end of PVP matches, you get pretty good experience for jobs you're leveling, the aforementioned wolf marks, and endgame tomes needed to buy endgame gear for your melee and mage job classes. The tomes are especially helpful if your job class is the max level and you need to get endgame gear. PVP has helped me outfit my endgame bard, samurai, and soon my monk. PVP is a lot of fun to do with your friends and it does offer rewards that make it worth your while. Just remember to do your best and work together with your team towards victory. Another thing to remember, it is just a game and it's meant to be fun so don't take it too seriously. Get out there and enjoy yourselves. See you at the next adventure everyone!
